Bernadette Davis, while surfing near South Broulee Australia was attacked by a shark at around 7:45 AM. While only in waist deep water she paddled over the shark and then felt a bump. She thought she had struck a rock until she saw the shark biting the back of her surf board. She suffered no injuries and returned to the water later that day.

An unnamed 19 year old man was attacked and killed off New Caledonia. He was surfing in the areas with friends. When swimming back to his boat he was attacked by one or more unidentified sharks. He lost and arm and part of his leg. His friend brought him back to shore but died before reaching medical attention.

Andrew Lindop was the third shark attack victim in three weeks in the Sydney area. The attack occurred around 6:45 AM at Avalon Beach. The victim was surfing with his father when the 2 meter shark attacked the boy. His father heard his screams and brought him to shore. He suffered extensive lacerations to his legs. He was bitten on the ankle, calf, and hip. The bites went straight to the bone.

Surfer Glen Lockery was attacked by an unknown shark on February 18th, 2009. The attack occurred around 5pm in murky water. The shark came from deep below and slammed into his surf board breaking the tip.

February 11th 2009
Navy diver Paul Degelder, 31, was attacked by a shark the Sydney Harbor. The attack happened around 7 AM. He sustained serious injuries in the attack which, according to Swim At Your Own Risk, eventually led to the loss of one of hands and one of his legs.

Glenn Orgias, 33, was the second person attacked by a shark in two days in the Sydney Harbor area of Australia. The first attack was to a 31 year old navy diver who lost a hand and a leg to a shark believed to be a bull shark. The most recent attack was to Glen Orgias a 33 year old surfer.
