20 year old baseball player Chad Rogers was bitten on June 27th, 2010 by what he believes to have been a 5 foot bull shark. Mr. Rogers was surfing in the afternoon when the shark bit his foot. He kicked the shark with his free foot was released and was able to swim to shore. With the assistance of a friend he hobbled to his truck and was treated at University of Texas Medical Branch. He received between 50 and 60 stitches.

15 year old Huynh Nhu Hoang was bitten by a shark while swimming a few dozen meters from shore. He saw the shark and swam away but the shark bit his left foot leaving a gash 12 cm long and 6 cm wide. He was treated at Military Hospital No. 13. He estimated the shark to be about 1 meter in length.
The time of day and water conditions were not mentioned.

18 year old boogie boarder Hannah Foster was bitten by an unidentified shark off of Jacksonville beach on June 10th, 2010 at about 2 PM. She was in waist deep water at the time of the attack. Her boyfriend, Rick Hughes, pulled her to shore. Mr. Hughes estimated the shark to be about 4 feet in length. The water conditions and time of the attack were not mentioned.
She suffered serious lacerations to her foot requiring 29 stitches.

41 year old Michael Bedford was attacked by a great white shark on June 6th, 2010 at Conspicuous Cliffs Beach near Walpole Australia. He was bitten on the leg while surfing between 12:30 and 1:00 PM. Though he suffered serious wounds surfers and fishermen were able to help him my tying a tourniquet to slow blood loss while waiting for an ambulance. He was transported to Denmark Hospital and then transferred again to Albany Hospital where he will likely undergo surgery.

Surfer Craig Gibson was bitten by what is believed to have been a bull shark while surfing at Point Plomer at about 4:30 pm on Tuesday May 18th, 2010. The weather was overcast and dark with light surf. He was bitten on his left calf as he prepared to paddle to shore. He punched and wrestled with the shark until he was released. He was treated by a nearby paramedic and walked away with no major injuries.

Truong Thi Tanh was swimming with three of her friends at Quy Nhon beach at around 6 AM when she was bitten by an unidentified fish which is believed to be a shark. The bite occurred approximately 15 meters from shore. While swimming back to shore Nguyen Thi Thu Thao was bitten approximately 5 meters out.
Thao received minor injuries but Truong’s tendon was severed requiring surgical repair.

A ten year old girl from Orlando, FL was bitten on May 1st 2010 at about 10:30 AM. She was in approximately waist deep water when she was bitten on the ankle. The shark grabbed on to her ankle and then let go. She suffered minor puncture wounds. She was treated by life guards and promptly continued playing in the sand after being bandaged.

26 year old James Elliott was about 40 ft from shore at Sharm El Sheikh resort in Egypt when a 5ft unidentified shark bit his ankle. The shark let go but then turned around and came back. He suffered severe damage including a severed Achilles tendon.

68 year old Jim Rowlinson was surfing at about 4 PM in murky water when a tiger shark bit the end of his surf board. The bite lifted him out of the water landing him on the back of the shark. Mr. Rowlinson says that he was on the back of the shark for 5 to 10 seconds. He dove off to unhook his surf leash. He said the shark was significantly larger than his surf board. He was able to locate his surf board. Amazingly he hung around and caught a few more waves before heading to shore.
Marine Biologist Terry Lilley was filming turtles underwater in the area when the attack occurred. He believes that the shark was tracking a turtle that likely swam too close to Mr. Rowlinson. After examining the bite mark on the surf board Mr. Lilley estimates that the shark was about 14 feet in length.
The attack occurred at Hanalei Bay in Kauai Hawaii.

35 year old surger Brendonn Denton was bitten by a Zambezi shark on April 12th, 2010. The attack occurred at about 10 AM near the mouth of the Kowie River. Water conditions were murky. Mr. Denton was bitten twice suffering wounds to both of his feet. The shark was estimated to be at least 2 meters in length.
Mr. Denton was able to paddle back to shore where friends assisted him. At this time he is being treated at Port Alfred Hospital. Surgery is being considered due to the injuries in his tendons.
